Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, also called Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed by the label's the first artist of female gender with Dreamville Records by J. Cole. Her first EP, Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released by Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox has been uploading her music since 2012, with the release of her first mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, she released new music through the internet including Bound. Sweat It is included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21st, 2015. J. Cole was interested in her talents and was keen to collaborate together with Rihanna. The official signing ceremony was held by Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat was her contribution for The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. In October of 2016 she dropped her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening act on behalf of J. Cole on his track Change in 2017, and was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. in 2018, the singer-songwriter appeared on two tracks by EarthGang and EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first track Whipped Cream off of Shea Butter Baby on July 16. The music video was followed by a video in September. On November 9 she dropped two more singles: 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. The 13th of November, she dropped two singles titled One and Pedigree. One and Pedigree. She then appeared in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on the 26th of February, 2019, for her debut album the same name. The song, launched with a music video uploaded to YouTube 20 February 2019 has been watched over three million times over the first 7 days. She was one of the support acts for 6LACK during the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
